Congratulations Anglo-Eastern Maritime Training; winner of the 2011 Training Award at the Lloyd's List Asia Awards

Anglo-Eastern Maritime Training was named the winner of the 2011 Training Award at the Lloyd's List Asia Awards yesterday, which is sponsored by Admiralty.

Rear Admiral Ian Moncrieff, Admiralty's Chief Executive, who was in Hong Kong to present the award, said that the company "has proved its dedication to training by long-term investment and the excellence of its programs. To ensure that its training standards are the best in the world, the company opened its own maritime college in India. It has designed and developed many of its own training systems and equipment to further the cause of safe and economical operation of vessels."

A special mention also goes to Magsaysay Maritime, whose work was Highly Commended by the judges, in this 'hotly fought category.'

Training in the maritime industry is increasingly in the spotlight as new technology and regulation requires mariners to develop a new set of skills. Through our sponsorship of the Lloyds List Awards, it has been fascinating to see so many interesting training projects, both in Europe and Asia, which are helping mariners gain the expertise they need to keep the industry running safely and efficiently.
